13. How to Select The Oil Fine Separator for A Screw Compressor?

In order to reduce the pressure loss and improve the separation efficiency when the air flows through the oil fine separator, the air flow rate should not be too high. However, the lower the air flow rate, the more filter materials are required. Therefore, it is very important to select a suitable oil fine separator and a suitable oil gas separator.
Reasonable pressure drop and flow rate values are related to factors such as the density of the compressed air and the viscosity of the lubricating oil. Generally, the pressure drop through a clean oil fine separator is around 0.025 – 0.03 Mpa, and for oil injected scrwe air compressors, the air flow velocity through the filter material should be around 0.1 m/s. The volume of the oil-gas separator is generally about three times that of the oil fine separator.
